Introduction
Manage treatment workflow allows user to create accounting treatment of the trade one by one (individually). User can also view the existing treatment set up or edit it, if needed. Accounting treatment set up includes setting up of hedge designation, treatment start date, treatment end date, excluded component, OCI release schedule, effectiveness assessment method, hypothetical derivative and relevant accounts/ rates to be used in journal entries.
Manage Accounting Treatments
From the welcome page, navigate to Accounting > Accounting Dashboard:
From this dashboard page, select one trade on which you would like to Manage Treatments:
After the trade is selected, press the green Take Action button:
Under the treatments section, select Manage Treatments:
You will now be taken to an Accounting Treatment summary page. This page provides an overview of the treatment applied to the selected trade:
In order to edit the Accounting Treatment, select Edit Treatment:
The first screen of the Accounting Treatment is Framework. On this page you can define the Hedge Designation, Accounting Standard, relevant dates, Excluded Components, and the Hedged Risk. To save, click the Next button:
The second screen of the Accounting Treatment is P&L Method. On this page you can define the Method and Treatment Balances. This screen is also useful for defining and checking custom OCI release schedules. For more information on P&L Method please refer to the corresponding workflow guide. To save, select the Next button:
The third screen of the Accounting Treatment is Assessment. On this page you can define the details of Measurement Test, Assessment Methods, Prospective Regressions, and Retrospective Regressions. To save, select the Next button:
The fourth screen of the Accounting Treatment is Settings. On this page you can define the details of Journal Entry Settings and Accounts for Payments and Accruals. To save, select the Next button:
The fifth screen of the Accounting Treatment is Review. On this page you can review all the parameters selected in the previous workflow. Furthermore, you can press the blue Create button to run inception effectiveness tests. You can also create an HDM to correspond with the established accounting treatment.
