Create and Manage P&L Templates


Introduction

Manage P&L Templates teaches the user how to set up an amortization schedule for a lifecycle event related to the treatment balance (i.e. inception MT for Inception Off-market, Inception Excluded Component, and Inception Premium, or the MT on the event date, typically a de-designation, for Frozen OCI) before running the accounting workflow to book journal entries. 

 

Create and Manage P&L Templates

From the welcome page, navigate to Accounting > Accounting Dashboard: 


On the Accounting Dashboard page, search for and select the trade for which you need to setup an amortization schedule: 

 
 
Navigate to treatment management from the green Take Action button: 

 


The journal entry summary will pop up onto the screen when the correct dates are chosen, and look something like this (depending on how many entries you have): 

 

Select the Treatment Balance card relevant for the balance you are amortizing and click Show Schedule: 


  • Note: the Start Date and Balance will appear blank until you create the measurement test (MT) for the lifecycle event related to the treatment balance (i.e. inception MT for Inception Off-market, Inception Excluded Component, and Inception Premium, or the MT on the event date, typically a de-designation, for Frozen OCI).  You must create the schedule before running this MT.


Select a pre-configured template or create a custom schedule:



Once you’ve completed the schedule setup, navigate Next to save. You can now proceed with running accounting on the trade to create the measurement test which will populate the balance and amortization start date.
